At Gubi Gabun, we know that it can be challenging for families throughout the New England region to access quality early childhood experiences. For 40 years, it has been our mission to ensure that children and families in remote communities have been afforded the opportunity to engage in rich, responsive and meaningful early childhood programs. Our philosophy is informed by children’s interests and underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework.
This commitment to early childhood education in the region sees us providing services in numerous locations on a fortnightly basis. We facilitate playgroups in Armidale, Bendemeer, Bald Blair, Guyra, Hernani, Ebor, Kentucky, Niangala, Tingha, Uralla, Walcha and Wongwibinda. We pride ourselves on the collaborative partnerships we work in with families and local communities in providing a service that fosters positive developmental outcomes for children.
Our qualified team of passionate educators respect the right of children to learn through their play. Our playgroups are structured, yet flexible, allowing for children to develop their sense of agency, emerging autonomy and independence. We believe that children should be supported as they explore, experiment and make sense of their world. As a community-based, not-for-profit organisation, we see ourselves as privileged to be a part of the village that helps to raise the children.
